As mentioned in a few posts, my husband and I took a trip to Oahu about 2 months ago. It was my very first trip to Hawaii and ohmygoodness it was incredible. We can't wait to go back someday. I have such a newfound love for the ocean and for polynesia. But how could you not? What a beautiful place full of such beautiful people. I wish I had time to describe the details of the trip, but here are some of our memories in photographs:

chinaman's hat-
the uss arizona memorial at pearl harbor- so beautiful and so moving-
the marriott in waikiki- where, because of an awful experience trying to check in at 'the ocean resort,' we, at the last minute, chose to stay for the first part of the trip. it was so wonderful and so worth a couple extra pennies. (the latter part was spent on the north shore)
I can't lie, I loved the shopping & tourism of waikiki-
near hanauma bay-
on our way up to the north shore, we visited the lovely byodo-in at the valley of the temples-
some pretty, but psycho, well-fed goldfishies- ;)
a north shore sunset at Haleiwa-
sunset in Laie-
delicious french toast in Laie-
our favorite day of the trip was our visit to the Laie Temple in the morning and Polynesian Cultural Center in the afternoon and night. uh-mazing. there are no words.
we jumped off the rock at Waimea Bay-
hung with the turtles-
found the others-
had soo-good shaved ice from matsumotos- (would you believe this is coconut+banana+pineapple+ice cream?)
and oh my word the fruit!
Waikiki-

Ohhhhhh my favorite place in the entire world....! Thank you for posting so many pictures. You guys totally jam packed your trip! I love it. Now I'm going to go sob in my room that I'm not in Hawaii anymore...!
oh my gosh. you basically relieved my summer in hawaii in just a week! soo jealous! next time you go...you need to get banana pancakes at the hukilau cafe (and listen to the jack johnson song while devouring), you need to go to kawela bay, it's a little secret beach near turtle bay, and go on a mini hike to see some amazing waterfalls. can't tell you how happy i was to see that you jumped off the waimea rock...and visited matsumotos...did you get ice cream in the bottom?! a normal shaved ice will never taste the same after those!
i know, it was amazing! i def wish i had lived there for a summer or something in college. oh ya, i totally got the ice cream! dang, now i have to add that to the post! ;)
Oh my goodness. Every picture is breathtaking. I am so glad you guys got to go. I am so jealous!
Lovely...I'm so glad you got to go before you had little ones. It will be a time to remember forever.
You're killing me smalls? Anyone want to babysit three darling kiddies so I can go??? Hahaha!! Just kidding! Thanks for the lovely post... I loved escaping for just a moment. Ü P.S. noted the time of the post - get some sleep girl!
Did you get the beans in the bottom with the ice cream at Matsumotos? It's different, but not in a bad way. Interesting. I do it every time just because I know I can't eat something like that anywhere else. Also, Boots & Kimo's cafe = to die for banana macademia nut pancakes with creamy sweet macademia nut syrup---I'm drooling here!
