my backyard- in film!

Summer weddings and such have been so crazy, I haven't had a lot of time to take my camera around the city or up into the Colorado mountains while I'm here in Denver, but ohhhh it will happen!

Until then, I did take a few minutes to take some pictures out my family's back door. About 2 weeks ago, my mom's rose bushes were blooming like crazy. They were so gorgeous, I couldn't stop staring at them.

I've been wanting to learn and shoot more film this summer. So I picked up 4 of my cameras, 3 of which are film, and played around. It was heaven. I even grabbed my favorite subjects -my sisters- for a couple portraits. And then, I even had them take some pictures of me. Awkward, yes. ;)

But I honestly couldn't get away from those rose bushes...

To start, here are 3 digital photos taken with my Nikon d80, edited with Adobe Lightroom (but I'm telling you, those roses pop out on their own, which you'll notice even more with the film):

After a few digital, I tried the film thing. First, the fisheye, which I always love (no photoshop):

my best subjects-

lol...

Next, here are a few with the holga 35mm. Pretty sure that camera has driven me crazy. In fact, my face should show you the rage... lol. No, I look really ticked off, but I just wasn't ready for this one. But I did like the accidental imperfection of the edges:

the holga was pretty clear here when my sister used it...

ya, I can't really get it right. any tips?...

And last but not least, these next 10 were taken with my new favorite- my grandpa's old 1981 Minolta x700. It's all manual focus and such, so crazy. I know the roses seem a little over-saturated, but that's just how they came out. No Photoshop at all! My goodness, I couldn't believe some of what came out of this camera...

...especially these-

Fun, yes? :)

carolina & chris' wedding

As I mentioned in Carolina's bridal post below, I was so blessed to get to work with Carolina & Chris and their family and friends. I met so many amazing people and had such a blast. Carolina's sweet mom and dad came out all the way from Peru, Caro's hometown! It was such a beautiful afternoon at the Salt Lake Temple, and the backyard reception that evening was incredible. We had too much fun, so you'll have to forgive the ton of goofy/random pictures here.

this series of the bridesmaids at the reception is hysterical. lol. they were so great-

first dance-

such a good dj. the music was so good, even i had to dance. hence the following series...
