searching for a texas autumn

We went for a walk the other day to see if we could find some fall. We got off to a rough start, but as we walked, we got closer and closer to finding it.

playing catch up

Helloooooo! (said like this)

I'm back! My maternity leave is pretty much over. It has been the most amazing 6 weeks, I am in love with this whole mom thing. I've avoided posting pics of our baby since I've had some plagiarism problems, but believe me, he is the most precious thing on the planet!

I have a few photo sessions lined up here in Dallas, I can't wait. But for those of you who haven't seen these already, I thought I'd post few of the fun things we did in this city pre-baby. Enjoy!

shaved ice heaven

bahama bucks is our best find yet.

on our first visit, we got a peachy orange and a strawberry colada shaved ice with ice cream and tropic creme. soo amazing.

I was 8 months pregnant, so we went back 5 times. ;) Heaven!

We hung with the fishies on Labor Day.

the nursery

Our baby's nursery revolves around this adorable quilt Casey's mom made. She took me to The Quilting Cottage in American Fork, where I chose all the fabrics.

After the quilt, she put together the all the bedding for the crib. She also made multiple changing pad and crib sheets out of each of the fabrics. Without her I'm not sure I would have known where to begin. Afterward, I stuck to a budget and everything fell into place.

My friend emily handmade the flags as a gift.
I found the Pottery Barn crib and changing table used on ksl's classifieds.
Thanks to another friend, I found the PB glider at Downeast Home in Orem
The footstool, dresser, and baskets are from Ikea
The dresser knobs and little giraffe
($4!) are from anthro
And the prints are from lds distribution, sarah jane, and persimmonandpink.

Besides all the other little things, stuffed away in all the drawers and closets, I'm still waiting for a lamp, clock, window shades, and a frame for pictures of the baby, all found at target.com.

cowboys stadium

Casey and I took a tour of the new Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington a week before our due date. Since BYU was playing there on the 5th, and we were hoping to be preoccupied at (or out of) the hospital, we figured we'd get a feel for the stadium in person since we'll probably only witness the game on TV. We did watch it on TV, (and it was amazing), but shoot, baby didn't come until 4 days later. :) Still- totally worth the tour. Would you like a recap? Well alright!

um hi bigscreen-

fun fact: before their concert a few weeks ago, the jonas brothers paid $8,000 to play halo for 2 hours on that thing.
