jenna : maternity

When I moved to Dallas I met Jenna through a mutual friend or two (thank you kelli nicole!!), and we became instant friends. She is a brilliant photographer, gifted writer, genuine friend, and just the cutest, kindest person on earth. I love this girl to pieces and I am soo sad I am moving and won't be around to meet her new arrival. I will someday, though!

We met up in Dallas with her husband and adorable friend Lynn. She and her husband are so cute, btw. They had me laughing my head off, wishing we spent more time together as couples. They are so much fun, and are going to make the most amazing parents.

I'd been looking forward to her maternity shoot for months. Jenna came prepared with the most creative ideas, I loved them. thank heavens since the texas landscape was just blah, and seriously needed some color. It was also freeezing and windy (the worst!), but we stuck it out! It was well worth it.

i just love her gorgeous long hair...

snow in texas

Forget rain, Dallas brought on the SNOW this weekend! It was crazy, felt just like back home! It broke their all-time record for snowfall, it left my mom stuck in an airport, and our power was out for 6 hours. It was pretty to watch though. :)

heart bokeh

without the heart:

with the heart:

this was so fun, and super easy! here is a tutorial.

my makeshift lens hood wasn't perfect, hence the crazy vignetting, oops. :)

that second shot is just a black piece of paper with a big heart cut out held a few inches away from the lens.

happy valentine's weekend!

moving again!

image here.

We're moving to Boston!
Whaat?! You might remember my announcement last May, when we left Provo for Dallas. Well, I can't even believe it, but this is round two. We leave in 3 weeks and we couldn't be more excited. I'm dreaming of the museums, the skyline, the rivers, the food, the Red Sox, and Boston in spring. I've never lived east of Colorado, so if you know anything, tell me everything.

I will work a little here and there, but will continue part-time as we travel around the country. My sidebar has been updated. I hope you will follow me on our adventure. :)

My family got me this 1933-37 kodak jiffy six-20 for Christmas. (similar to my brownie from last year.) Now all I need is some 620 film. Isn't it a beauty?
